Narrative, Continued:

Santi has just finished serving as the InterimYouth Minister at her church, and has enjoyed being with the youth for the past year. The youth have also really enjoyed her leadership, and have recently organized many goodbye ceremonies, including a surprise party where she was given a large basket of presents that all of the youth prepared. Santi’s proudest moment was in church when everyone stood up, and applauded her for all of her participation and effort with the youth program.

"Wake County is a diverse and exciting place to live, and raise a family. After living here already for 39 years, I look forward to many more years here, and to seeing how Raleigh will improve and grow in the future."

Narrative:

Imagine a compassionate people person, who values her relationships with her family and friends; in addition to being with them, she loves cooking, photography, and travel. If you can imagine this person, you have thought of a woman named Santi. Santi was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but only lived there for the first year of her life. After living in several small towns throughout the US, she moved to Wake County when she was five. She really liked it here because she had been living in much smaller towns, and liked the opportunities that Raleigh offers, such as ballet, art, and community organizations, and events. After all these years, Santi still loves Wake County, particularly the vast variety of restaurants, cultural opportunities, and parks and recreation areas in Raleigh. However she is still annoyed and concerned about all the traffic in Raleigh and dislikes traveling through its busy streets everyday. Santi is happily married after 16 years, and together she and her husband have 2 boys named Sam, 13 and Charlie, 15.

Santi earned a 2-year associate degree in photography at Randolph Community College, after studying sociology at NC State for 2 years. She is considering her options for a new career in healthcare and is especially interested in supporting women through labor and delivery, and mother-baby bonding.
