"In order for more Hispanics to succeed, they need to be educated, even if it means helping them with cultural and language barriers." This is what Paula thinks about every day when she takes the 20-minute drive to school. Her life has been devoted to helping Hispanic children of Wake County. Paula contributes to a foundation that is designed to reach out to Hispanic students that do not know English very well. Paula is also involved with a mentoring program called Young Life, which is an outreach to middle and high school students. Paula thrives in her community by helping it. Her race has played a big part in her life because she lives by the Hispanic culture and Spanish community. In school, Paula majors in Spanish and minors in business, which will help her to become the person she wants to be in the future. Paula would like to be a Spanish teacher because she likes children. When finished with college, Paula might even try to interpret Spanish internationally. Paula's occupation is a Hispanic Coordinator or a person that is reaching out to Hispanics. Paula's goal in her life is to finish college and go
on to be a Spanish teacher.
