Narrative:

Michael lives with his two little sisters and his mom in a white house with a big, tree-filled yard. Michael was diagnosed with autism when he was two years old. Some interesting things about Michael are how he can tell you any of his family member’s birthdays by memory.  Michael can also tell you what day of the week a future calendar date will fall on.  So, if you tell him that your birthday is August 4, 2009 he could tell you that that day would fall on a Tuesday. Michael enjoys playing sports, listening to R&B and gospel hits, and watching television re-runs on TV-Land. He likes eating pepperoni pizza, broccoli and cheese, and bagels with cream cheese. He also enjoys reading the Channel Book in the Sunday newspaper. He memorizes the TV line up every week and can tell you what days and what times most shows are coming on. Michael’s greatest accomplishment was winning the principal’s award at his fifth grade graduation. My cousin is a special member of my family.  He has changed the way my family and I look at people with special needs.
