Narrative, Continued:

Marlene has always loved dogs and has one now, who thinks she is a cat. Marlene enjoys the community that she contributes to by giving things that she does not want to Good Will. She enjoys using community resources like pools, libraries and parks. Marlene has overcome many challenges through her life and always tries to do the best she can for her family.

Marlene thinks that Wake County has a good balance of parks, malls, schools, and hospitals. She thinks that transportation needs to be improved because all of the roads are congested. She thinks that there should be more buses and factories and businesses should not be built so far away from residencies. Marlene is thankful for the good climate because in some places the temperature is scorching hot or freezing cold. Overall, Marlene thinks that Wake County is a great place to live.

Marlene was born and raised in Union County and lived there for 28 years. Her mother taught her how to work in a factory that sold plastic plumbing parts. She learned that you had to be independent and work for money to live and support your family. Marlene missed out on a lot of opportunities because her parents did not have a lot of money. But then an opportunity came, and with her husband, Marlene moved to Wake County because she liked the size of it and there were many jobs that were being offered. Marlene then had a child, which made her stay out of work for about 10 years. Marlene has still tries to get her daughter to have more than what she had when she was a child. Marlene's husband built them a house in a lovely wooded area and spent the rest of their time there. Marlene now works as a registered nurse and enjoys caring for people in hospitals. The strain is enormous, but Marlene always manages it. Three days out of the week, Marlene drives to the hospital for 25 minutes to work. Marlene enjoys using her free time to use the Internet and looks up the weather and news. Marlene also likes to use her free time to read murder mysteries, go to movies, and eat great food at seafood restaurants. Marlene has always felt that she has a comfortable lifestyle because she can vote for her leaders and has many freedoms. Marlene considers herself a Christian, though she may not believe in everything that is in the Bible, she does believe in God and Heaven.
