Taking a look at the globe every once in a while and seeing where her out-of-state relatives live is so much fun for her! Others know drawing, painting, and that friends are very important to Lauryn! Appreciating having friends is something she learns from her family. “I like my friends. They say and do kind things,” says Lauryn.

Living in Wake County has excited her in many ways such as, seeing the beautiful jewelry, the beads, the toy stores, and eating the delicious ice cream!

Narrative:

Lauryn is a fun, carefree girl who loves to draw. This little girl has a great attitude about being born and now living in Raleigh, NC. As a lively five-year-old, she goes to kindergarten at a church in Raleigh. Next year, she will go to another school in the suburbs for first grade and she will continue there through fifth grade. The commute from her house to her current school is about ten minutes. Playing on the computer or using the Internet is also part of her daily routine!

Attending church is a big part of Lauryn’s life! She is a Christian and goes to a Baptist church. Mission Friends is held every Wednesday night and she really enjoys it because they do fun faith based activities such as making a cross out of clay. Lauryn is encouraged to follow her religion very closely by praying every night. Having very close friends at church is a blessing to her mother because Lauryn gets to talk about God while playing fun games!

Using the community parks and playgrounds is one of Lauryn’s favorite things to do! “I like the swings very much!” says Lauryn. She has one pet; a cat named Samantha. Playing with Samantha and watching her chase a toy mouse is also something Lauryn enjoys doing. Learning to do crafts such as making bracelets is something Lauryn is proud of. According to Lauryn, learning how to paint is her greatest accomplishment.
