Narrative:
Once I stepped in Lacy’s room to do our interview I knew it was going to be a fun one. She greeted me with a big hug and a smile on her face. I sat down and we talked nonstop for 40 minutes. Lacy has lived in Wake County all of her life. When she was younger she was playing basketball with her dad. Suddenly she threw it really hard and it landed on one of the concrete steps near them. Sweating and tired little Lacy (she was about 4 years old) raced after the ball hoping to try another shot and beat her dad. While she was running she did not realize that the step was right in front of her and she tripped on one of the concrete steps. She screamed and fell down hard, and busted her head open. As she was screaming and crying her dad rushed over and took her in his arms, he took her back home and tried to calm her down saying “everything is going to be all right.” Her parents called a doctor and the doctor came over right away. While they were stitching her up she was crying and crying. After they were done with the 12-14 stitches the doctors knew just how to cheer her up. They blew up one of their gloves with air so it looked like a balloon and gave it to her. She enjoyed it very much and immediately felt better. Lacy says this was one of the scariest moments for her, and still has a scar under her right eye.
