Narrative, Continued:

Jon, his girlfriend and their dog, Linus, enjoy using the community dog park next to their house. Jon is concerned about Wake County’s history being lost as old houses are knocked down to make room for new developments. He feels that these homes should be restored and renovated, rather than knocked down completely. During his Cary childhood there were woods everywhere. “There’s a Best Buy and Target on every corner now,” he says. Jon feels Wake County’s money would best benefit schools, art, and music. Jon wants Wake County to grow but at the same time keep its value and charm it had long ago.

“I don’t want to be a label,” Jon said when asked about what he wanted people to know about him. Jon wants to do many things with his life and doesn’t want to be known for just one thing.

Jon grew up in North Carolina and has lived here all of his life. He graduated from Enloe High School in 1996. Looking back, he appreciates Enloe because of its unique mix of students from different parts of Wake County. Enloe gave Jon and his fellow classmates a perspective of how the real world would be. To this day he still is in touch with a few of his friends he met in high school.

As a unique man, Jon doesn’t want to be categorized. He wants to be known for many different things. “I want to wear many hats.”
