Narrative, Continued:

In his early twenties he attended art school at night and had a day job. At night school he continued to develop his skills as a framer. When Jesse lived in Winston-Salem he was literally running a frame shop from his basement. He then sold the shop and moved to Washington, North Carolina where he did some work renovating houses. He now works in his framing business located in downtown Raleigh. Jesse is committed to social justice issues, and is a leader in the Wake Progressives.

Narrative:

As people say, don’t judge someone by how they look. This wonderful, gentle, craftsman loves the arts, dancing, and going to the Progress Energy Center to see shows. Although his small business does not pay very good, his love for dancing and the arts motivates him to buy season tickets. When he was little, his mom would take him to museums all the time. Now on the weekends he continues to visit regularly. Jesse makes all different types of frames through his business called “Fine Art Framing.” Jesse works on about 30 frames a month. As a teenager, Jesse worked as an artist, but soon found that he preferred to frame his mom’s art. Soon, he and his mom would enter art shows together.
