Jazmin graduated from high school in Maryland in 1991. She completed a degree from Wake Technical Community College. For the last three years, Jazmin has been a teacher assistant and a crisis assistant for Wake County Public Schools. Jazmin commutes about 15-20 each way in her “box.” Jazmin loves her job, and really enjoys working with children in special education. Jazmin likes to run, and exercise in her spare time.

Jazmin is 32 years old. She came to the U.S.A. in 1983; she was 12 when she was adopted from Columbia by an American family in Chicago. She has been in Wake County since 1995. Her first impression of Wake County was that it was “country” (meaning rural) and she was used to being in a big city. Two people live in her house, Jazmin and her middle school daughter. Jazmin’s race has played a significant role in her life, and the type of mother she has become. Jazmin speaks English at home. Most people’s first impression of Jazmin is that she is a really funny, energetic person.
