Narrative:

Gary grew up witnessing a lot of change such as technological and human changes. He was born on 1952 and went to school in a segregated community. Gary is a white male and when asked about elementary school he commented “I couldn’t figure it out, why did the black kids walk past my school every morning and go to a school down the road.” Gary moved to Wake County in 1957 and the moment he got there he noticed that there were not a lot of houses and a lot of open space. However, when asked about the changes over time to Wake County he noticed that there were a lot of new houses being built over forests and there were more and more cars on the streets. Gary thought that if he could change Wake County he would eliminate unnecessary building and adding in more parks and recreational areas. It was at the University of North Carolina State University when Gary achieved his bachelor’s degree and got a job in the University Library. To get to work Gary drives a car from his home to his office, which usually takes about 30 minutes each way. Currently his religion is universalism and follows this religion mildly close and has many family traditions. For example, for almost every birthday in the family the family will gather at Gary’s parent’s house to celebrate. Another tradition for him is on Christmas day the family gathers in the living room and opens presents then later in the day they all go to his parent’s to eat dinner and open more presents. One of Gary’s luckiest moments was when his draft number was called, the Vietnam War was coming to an end.
