Narrative, Continued:

Frances is very adamant that every home built in Wake County should have a two thousand dollar fee. This money will be put towards much needed schooling for Wake County’s rapidly growing population. Her biggest concern for the county is that its quick growth will prevent it from being able to sustain itself, especially with the amount of children and the lack of schooling availability. She appreciates the garbage collectors, whom she considers an extremely important part of our community.

How many people do you know that taught for 29 years? Frances did. She was born in Oak City, North Carolina, near Greenville. After attending Stoke’s High School she obtained her degree at East Carolina and UNC Greensboro. Afterwards she devoted a full 29 years of her life to teaching. 27 of these were spent teaching at a local church; two more were spent teaching home economics to high school students. She remained a kindergarten teacher for so long because of her love of the interaction with the children and the respect of them and their parents. Frances considers her greatest achievement was raising her children, Jeff Jr. and Douglas, who are 58 and 55, respectively. Frances considers herself to be very involved in her community. She is also very close to her church and follows her religion very closely.
