Narrative, Continued:

Dan lives with his family in North Raleigh on a .27-acre property. He also has the company of a beagle, a golden retriever mix, and an eastern collared lizard. Dan is very concerned about Wake County’s public school system. Daniel was concerned about getting his daughter in a school that provided a strong education. He appreciates that Wake County has options other than the overcrowded public schools, but when a person applies to magnets and charter schools they have a slim chance of getting in. Dan’s other concern is more toward the rest of Wake County’s children in school. Are the children receiving the education they need? Where is the personal support from their teachers? The population is growing rapidly and he is worried about the planning that goes along with it. Overall, Dan loves Wake County he thinks it is a great place to work and live. He enjoys spending time with his family. They visit parks, museums, and greenways. He owns a library card and uses it frequently. “I appreciate the lifestyle of Wake County. It's a relatively friendly area that is well planned for families.”

In the millennium of technology the world needs intelligent people like Daniel. Daniel was born in the chilly city of Chicago, Illinois. He is an only child and he lived with both his parents. He first went to college at University of Illinois. Then in 1983 he attended Syracuse University in Upstate New York. After living in Upstate New York for four years Dan moved to Boston in 1987 for a job with IBM. Dan enjoyed Boston until he was transferred to Wake County in five years later. So he and his wife moved into a beautiful house in Raleigh. Living his whole life in the winter weather of the North, Wake County seemed like a warm, tropical island. Wake County made a good first impression on Dan except that he was concerned about the diversity and variety of the restaurant types there. Dan is a person who, instead of eating to live, lives to eat. In Chicago and Syracuse Dan enjoyed eating the Thai food, French cuisine, and Japanese Sushi. Wake County was a few steps down; there was pizza, Big Macs, and the famous Whopper. Dan is pleased with Wake County’s additions, which include Zest and traditional Asian restaurants. Dan enjoys his job at IBM. There is always a technological challenge that he is willing to face. He also likes the fact that he meets many different people when he is traveling for work. Dan often works at home with his wife, but he also has an office about 20 minutes away from his house. During the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Dan was responsible for designing, developing and implementing a system that would monitor the computers of the big event.
