Narrative, Continued:

Inside his house on his quarter acre property, is High-Speed Internet access on their computer. The family of five is not hungry, according to Austin. Unlike a lot of other American families, Austin keeps a healthy diet, barely ever eating fast food. Occasionally, Austin will eat at a restaurant, but usually they eat at home.

Austin follows Catholicism closely, by participating in religious school every Sunday. On Christmas and Easter his family from out of town will celebrate with him, but besides that Austin and his family don’t have any other unique religious traditions. Through his church, Austin helps out in the community a lot. He donates money and helps feed the hungry.

Austin appreciates Wake County very much. “My school is so much fun,” Austin stated, “but it could be a little safer. Austin plans on living in Wake County for the rest of his childhood.”

In the middle of suburbia, Austin is living a laid-back life. This 12-year-old athlete was born in Richmond, the capitol of Virginia. At age four Austin and his family moved to Wake County, with a hope for nicer people. His family knew that they were going to have to adapt to Wake County, and they did with no problem. Austin spends most of his time playing sports and doing schoolwork. Every week he practices and plays in games with his soccer team. Almost each day, Austin gets together with neighborhood friends playing football, table tennis, hockey, and other sports. Living in his house are his parents, older brother, and younger sister. Although he studies French in school, his whole family speaks English.

Monday through Friday, Austin takes a 20-minute ride on the bus to his public school in Raleigh. After completing middle and high school, Austin plans to earn a Ph.D in college. Then he plans to have a career of a doctor or a lawyer for the rest of his life.
