Faculty and Administrative Needs
- Student/Volunteer Data Organizer: Maintain updated database of EMS families' contact information and volunteerism.
- Lunch Distribution: Assist teachers in passing out lunch orders from Chick-fil-A (Tuesdays) and Domino's Pizza (Thursdays). Commitment Level: 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly (you choose!).
- Prime Group Parent: Assist teachers in coordinating volunteers for classroom needs, field trips, classroom gifts, etc. Provide services much like homeroom parents at the elementary-school level.
- Recycling: Assist teachers with collection of school-wide recycling materials. Commitment Level: weekly or monthly.
- Copy Room: Make photocopies for teachers as needed. Commitment Level: Weekly or monthly.
- Laundry: Collect dish rags on Friday, wash them over the weekend, and return them to school Monday morning. Commitment Level: Monthly (need one person per grade level).
- Building/Grounds Maintenance: Gardening, building upkeep, painting, etc. Commitment Level: As Needed.
Fundraising
- Fundraising Committee: Determine what fundraising activities will be done for EMS PTO and assist in organizing them (i.e., Pass the Hat, Family Frolic, Soap Sale, dinner nights, book fair, etc.).
- Soap Sale Coordinator: Communicate with the vendor (a former EMS family) and select products to be sold. Gather student art to be used as the packaging for soaps that are sold as a fundraiser. Early Fall.
- Family Frolic Chair: Oversee the Frolic fundraiser committee.
- Family Frolic Silent Auction Chair: Oversee the fabulous volunteers who solicit donations and catalogue the donations for the fundraiser.
- Family Frolic Planning Committee: Areas include selecting the venue, selecting a theme, decorations, coordinating volunteers, food and beverage, entertainment, etc.
- Family Frolic Silent Auction Committee: Solicit donations for the Silent auction fundraiser, assist in organizing the silent auction and raffle.
Hospitality & Programs
- Hospitality Chair(s): Oversee Hospitality Committee and coordinate food/beverages for events such as Back-to-School Open House, Shinonome week, graduation, Teacher Appreciation Week, etc.
- School Dance Chaperone: Commit to an hour or longer during the school dances (held 3-4 times each year).
- Sunshine Committee: Coordinate meals, etc. for faculty when sick or in need.
- Hospitality Committee for School-Wide Events: Donate food/beverages for school dances, teacher appreciation luncheons, Shinonome week, etc.
- Teacher Appreciation Chair(s): Plan/coordinate four teacher luncheons each year as well as Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
- Teacher Appreciation Committee: Donate food/beverages for teacher luncheons and assist with coordination of Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
- 8th Grade Graduation Chair: Rising 7th or 6th grade parent to coordinate food/beverages for reception following graduation in May.
- Parent Newsletter: Contribute articles and photographs for the quarterly newsletter. Need editor and 3-5 contributors.
- Cultural Arts Program: Arrange for performers to come to school.
