PARENT-TEACHER ORGANIZATION
COMMUNITY COORDINATING COUNCIL

About Us

As part of its charter and mission, Exploris Middle School is committed to involving parents in their students' education. The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), formerly known as the Community Coordinating Council, was formed to provide a formal means of engaging parents in support of the school's mission and goals as well as its faculty, staff, and students. There is no fee to join; every parent with a student at EMS is automatically a member of the PTO.

Your active participation and support, including the exchange of new ideas, is welcomed and encouraged, as EMS's small-school setting is ideal for parent involvement and collaboration. The PTO welcomes you to join us and learn more about how you can help support the Exploris Middle School mission!

Community Teams

In facilitating parent participation and collaboration, the PTO has established the following community teams:

Hospitality – Organizes dances, faculty lunches, teacher appreciation events, the school picnic, graduation, and receptions as needed.

Communications – Produces the PTO newsletter and contributes to the school website.

Family Frolic – Helps coordinate logistics for EMS's primary fundraiser, Family Frolic, held each February.

Fundraising – Manages the Pass the Hat campaign, soap sales, Box tops and more. The money raised from each fundraiser directly supports technological improvements, field trips, teacher mini-grants, our global partnerships, community events and more.

Faculty & Administrative Support – Coordinates the distribution of student lunches, Cultural Arts events and more as needed.
