Bridge Building Club and Competition
Students who enjoy teamwork, are creative, and are interested in engineering participate in this club to prepare to compete at the NCDOT Bridge Building Competition (see http://www.ncdot.org/about/kids/bridgecomp/). They first create blueprints for and build balsa wood bridges, learn engineering concepts and terminology to write an essay, and create a skit to present all their work at the competition in March.
Volleyball Club
If your daughter would be interested in learning how to play volleyball or learning more about volleyball twice a week (Monday and Wednesday, 1.5 hrs each day) after school in October through November please contact Toni Howell at twhowell@nc.rr.com or call 859-3713. We are hoping at least 12 girls will sign up so we can have enough players for two teams. The cost will be about $100 per person to rent courts and provide an experienced volleyball coach at Triangle Volleyball Club facilities (one of the best volleyball clubs in NC). The club will be about 7 weeks long and your daughter will receive about 21 hours of instruction/practice. I would set-up a carpool after school to/from the practice facilities. Please email or call me if you have any questions.
Thanks! Toni
